Jordan explained that Jackson use to be his younger 14 year old brother and that his memory of that was wiped out when he threw the coin at him.
Jordan worked it out aloud, "I tossed it, I caught it. I remember how it use to be and my life changed. I tossed it, you caught it. I remember how it was but your life changed. So whoever throws it, recognizes the change and whoever catches it gets changed..."
Jackson saw the twist first, "That explains when it messes with one person's life but not when it makes people twins. You threw the coin but I remember being 17 and I am going to miss driving for the next two years." Jackson stared into the distance then said, "ugh, this means I'm going to have to take all those math, English and reading classes again."
Jordan contemplated what his twin was saying and the implication of everything that had just happened. "This coin seems to make people fit their appearance. In our first reality, we were never into sports but you lifted weights. It seemed to speed up your puberty which is why you looked and then became a 17 year old. In our second reality, the one you remember. I saw trophies. Did you play sports?"
Jackson gave a suspicious glance to Jordan not understanding the importance at all, "Yeah, football, why does it matter?"
"When did you start?" Jordan asked ignoring the question.
"Like 5th grade, why does it matter?"
"Then maybe we can all win." Jordan had a far away look and slowly walked toward his parent's room with Jackson following.
"Talk to me lil bro... err... bro."
Jordan was snapped out of the trance. Turning to Jackson, "We want to stay twins."
"Yeah."
"We both remember several years of high school and would both rather get to the freedom of young adulthood."
Jackson stared at his brother for a long minute, considering what his brother was seeming to offer. "Umm, yeah, but we are the same age, we cant average ourselves out any more because we are the same already."
"Sure we can!" Jordan said with a sly grin. "We just gotta look the part! Or, one of us does and then we can re-average."
With that Jordan went into his parent's bathroom and grabbed his moms makeup applying various powders to his face to make the appearance of a 5 o'clock shadow.
Jackson understood then what his brother was doing. "Dude, some makeup on your face wont make you look like an adult. Especially not one old enough for us to stay twins and get out of high school."
Unfazed, "I know, that's why you are on outfit duty."
