After the initial shock, you manage to sit Francis down in his room and explain the magic remote to him, as well as your experiments at the mall. Francis is silent the entire time, hanging on your every word. Well, mostly. He is somewhat preoccupied with exploring his own body, rubbing his newly hairy chin and poking his small belly.
"... And then I came here and, well, you know the rest." You finish your story. Francis looks up at you from poking the hairs on his stomach.
"So," he says experimentally, as if listening to the sound of his own voice. "You just bought this in a shop in the mall? For twenty bucks?"
You nod. "Yeah. Weird, isn't it?"
"Are there more of them, do you think?" he asks, looking at the Age Changer resting in your hands.
"Oh yeah," you say. "There were whole stacks of them!"
"Really..."
There's something ominous about Francis' tone, and you hold your Age Changer a little closer.
"What say we go get another one?" he says, jumping off his bed. Or, he tries, at least. He more stumbles than jumps.
"But, we can't!" you say. "You're grounded!"
Francis gives you a face, then gestures at himself. "Dude, I'm 35! Nobody can ground me!"
"But, your dad," you stammer, then hold up the remote. "I'd better turn you back before he sees you."
Francis holds up a hand. "No! Wait, I have a better idea. What if we were to, instead, change my dad."
You wince. "Are you sure about this?" It's your remote, but Francis is bigger than you are, now. He could probably swipe it from you before you could finish dialing in a change.
"Hey, you just finished telling me about those guys in the mall that you changed. How is this any different?"
You think that it's a lot different. Those were strangers, this was your friend's cool dad.
"Change him just like you changed me," says Francis, grinning. "Except make him younger, like I used to be. Then we'll see who's in charge!"
You sigh and nod. You don't feel so great about coming over to Francis's house, now.
You make your way to the window, where you see Francis' dad doing yard work. Reluctantly, you point your remote at him.
Darryl Osmynn
Age: 35
"Go on," Francis urges. "Do it!"
You set the remote to regress Darryl, Francis's dad, five years every minute, and press the center button.
It takes a while to notice the changes, but after a minute you can see Darryl's belly has shrunken away and his hairline has pulled forward. As he pulls weeds and fixes some siding, you can see the faint lines on his face vanishing, as he regresses through his twenties.
"It's just like how you changed," you say to Francis. "Except backwards."
You can see that Darryl has more spring in his step, now. He hadn't really been old before, but now he was younger and more athletic, a man in his early twenties. You can see brief instances of facial hair cross his jawline as he passes through his college years. His hair also grows a little shaggy.
"He looks a lot like me," Francis mutters. "Well, how I used to look, anyway..."
You can see Darryl starts to grow shorter, his pants bunching up at his ankles. His facial hair becomes patchy, and his face briefly breaks out into acne. It's at this point that Darryl seems to realize what's happening and stares at his hairless arms and bunching pants in disbelief.
When his age hits 15, you hit the central button again to stop the changes. You then activate the clothing option and Darryl's clothes snap to an appropriate size, not all that different to what Francis had worn earlier.
"Let's see who's the boss, now," Francis says menacingly as he marches outside.
You see Francis out the window, glaring down at the teen who had been his father. Darryl stares up in disbelief. You can't make out what they're saying, but it looks like the conversation is getting heated. Darryl yells, then Francis grabs him by the back of his shirt and seat of his pants and drags him into the house. You can hear Darryl yelling clearly, now.
"I don't know what's happening! Somebody explain!" he yells.
"It's simple, Dad," says Francis, mockingly. "I'm the big guy, now. You have to do what I say. And I say you're grounded!" With that, Francis tosses his former father into his room. Darryl looks up at you, a look of shock and confusion on his face.
"It's me, Francis's dad!" he says. "This man says he's Francis. I have no idea what's going on! I sound like a lunatic, I know, but-"
"Shut up, Dad," says Francis. You've never heard Francis talk to his father like this, and it makes you nervous. Francis looks at you. "Let's go to the mall and get me one of those remotes."
