A lithe young man inadvertently gives you surprised look, and you follow his eyes as his gaze travels to a cup lying emptied on the ground next to the chair you had been sitting in. You remember that your body dropped the cup just before your soul entered it, and that the drink contained within had tasted strange. You put two and two together, and by the time the young man gathers himself and presents a blank face, you are certain he has just attempted to assassinate you.
Maybe not just attempted, you think in shock, maybe he actually succeeded! Perhaps that is why I ended up in this body, the original occupant died! What happened to his soul? Does that mean someone else could have ended up in my body?
Your mind races, but your new body just stands there glowering confidently at the would-be murderer. You recollect that he is a servant you took on a little while back, after a prior servant came to a rather grisly end. His light auburn hair and deeply tanned skin serve to offset his orange irises. Your original soul finds him almost attractive; or he would be, but for the coldness in his eyes.
Nevertheless, you know you must take some action in order to protect yourself. The assassin has no way of knowing that you are not the previous owner of this body, and might try to kill you again. It might be safer to get rid of him right away. Your body seems to agree, and you feel the same extreme bloodlust you felt before. However, this body now belongs to you, and you do not have the same character as the prior occupant. This man might have answers, so it might be more prudent to keep him around. After all, now that he believed he had failed, he probably wouldn't try again so readily. You ignore your body's desire to torture the killer to death and think it through rationally.
