"Welcome back to my territory." A voice sounded over the intercom in the offices, "I do so regret not having been able to kill you all personally the last time."
"The hell is he talking about?" Cal asked.
"Oh, do you not remember me? It wasn't that long ago. Granted, you all looked very different, and so did the rest of the world. However, maybe this will remind you." The voice said, just before Gabe was whipped into the air by a rope trap.
"It can't be." Rebeca said.
"The killer is... the killer." Will said, smacking himself in the forehead.
"Right you are little prey. This time though, I see you all have your own toys. This hunt will be very interesting indeed." The killer said as Gabe cut himself down.
"You ready for some payback?" He said, looking at Logan.
"Damn right." Logan said, pulling a small grenade out of the compartment in his holster.
"Ah, but you forget. You have to find me first. Before I find you." The killer said.
"Is there a second floor?" Cal asked no one in particular.
"Probably." Rebeca said.
With that, Cal leaped into the air, knocking the ceiling down on himself.
"Ladies first." He said, grabbing Logan and tossing him through the new hole in the ceiling.
"What are you doing?" Will asked as Cal hoisted Rebeca up as well.
"He's clearly not where we expect him to be, so I'm going where he doesn't expect us to be." Cal said, tossing Gabe through the hole.
"There are cameras you idiot." Will said before being thrown up to the second floor as well.
"Catch." Rebeca said, tossing a metal cable down to Cal.
"No need." Cal said, jumping straight up to the second floor.
"Fancy suit you have there." Logan said.
"Thanks." Cal said.
"Too bad it doesn't have a helmet." A voice said as a bullet hit Cal's shoulder pad, two inches from his head.
"Found him." Will shouted, tossing a whole bag of grenades down the hallway. Three seconds later, a large amount of the building was missing in that area.
"I think he dodged that." Logan said, charging ahead.
"Astute observation." Rebeca said as the others followed.
"Oh, isn't this exciting? The hunter being hunted, the prey turned to predators. And yet, I'll still win." The killer shouted back as he fired again, missing by a larger margin.
"Hey Cal, you read any comics?" Logan asked.
"Of course." Cal answered.
"You ever see that move where Colossus throws Wolverine?" Logan asked.
"Way ahead of you." Cal said, picking up his smaller companion and throwing him down the hallway after the psycho.
"You're getting bizarrely good at throwing us." Will said.
"Hey guys, watch this." Gabe said, shifting his feet into wheels and launching himself ahead of the others.
"Place your bets, Gabe or Logan for the kill?" Rebeca said.
"Me." Cal said, barreling through the walls.
"You ever think that armor is just a little too strong?" Will asked.
"Oh, go whine on the forum why don't you?" Rebeca snarked.
"Hey assclown, trap this!" Logan called from far ahead before firing repeatedly. Based on how the world around them faded out, placing them in the white halls again, the others guessed he hit.
"Welcome back. Did you have fun?" The sprite asked.
"I got turned into a girl, forced to pray, shot at, and broke someone out of prison." Cal said.
"What he means to say is hell yes we had fun." Rebeca said.
"Good. For a minute there, I thought we would be stuck in a rut of mentally scarring as many of you as possible." The sprite said.
"Oh please, if you leave horror without any mental scars, you're doing it wrong." Rebeca said.
"Speaking of horror, what exactly happened back there?" Logan asked.
"I have no idea, and you know what? I'm perfectly okay with that." The sprite said.
"You say that a lot." Gabe said.
"It's magic dear boy, I don't need to understand it." The sprite said, "Now, let's discuss the results of this last match. After all, only one of you can win Battle Royale."
