Figuring there were enough different problems with his current situation, the more people working on the solutions the better, Carson quickly set about hitting the manual overrides on everyone's pods. In short order, the rest of the crew began to wake up, stagger to their feet, and stare in confusion at the nubile asian beauty Carson had somehow become. Davis' gaze was focused a bit lower than the others, Carson still being quite naked, as was O'Neil's to his surprise. Carson had never suspected she swung that way. Taking a deep breath, Carson blurted out, "The thing from the cargo hold did this. I'm Carson, it stole a younger version of my body somehow, and there's a puddle of Kim on the floor."
There were no shortage of follow-up questions, which Carson answered as best he could. The whole thing was bizarre enough there was no real reason not to take him at face value, but Schultz insisted on giving him a complete medical examination before things went any further. He was human, and in perfect health it seemed, for whatever that was worth. DNA was a perfect match for Kim's. The more invasive aspects of things made it hard to deny he was now a woman though, and apparently a virgin. Carson pulled on a pressure suit on afterwards. It was too bulky to keep when he went back to the cryo pod, but for now it made things a little less awkward.
Checking in on Kim was next on the agenda. The puddle Carson had fled from had solidified again. What they were fairly sure was Kim had solidified into something that looked a bit like a big beige gumdrop, hard as a rock. Carson couldn't stand to look at it. That just left... it. There weren't really any weapons on board, but there were enough dangerous bits of heavy equipment for everyone to arm themselves before they opened Carson's pod back up.
Carson wasn't sure what to expect from his doppleganger. Some sort of monster here to kill them all? Some poor alien who fell for the same trap he had, scared out of its mind at the unfamiliar human body? He certainly wasn't ready for how his own new body reacted to the sight of him staggering out. Getting wet looking at his own younger self would be weird enough would be weird enough if he'd always been a she. As is, he was dealing with a new set of hormones and physical reactions on top of an urge that had to qualify as some sort of incest... and seriously, had he really ever looked this good? He went to pour himself a drink, this was too much to deal with.
Interrogating the impostor was just bizarre. He didn't give any impression that he understood anyone's questions, there really wasn't any sort of glimmer of intelligence, but he wasn't some sort of zombie either. It was like trying to have a conversation with someone too distracted to pay any attention. Something like muscle memory had to be at play. Anything Carson would normally do without thinking about it, the impostor could do. Stretching, yawning, even replying to greetings, but it was only those automatic sorts of responses. Must have been how it loaded itself back into the pod. That didn't really match with what Carson was experiencing though. There'd been that odd reaction to seeing his young old body stagger around naked but-
That's when Schultz pointed out his drink. Not only was he holding it in his left hand, not his right, he'd poured a glass of bourbon. That was Kim's drink of choice. That was almost too much to handle. After making sure the imposter Carson was taken out of the rotation for investigating future oddities, and that the whole crew would wake when the... lump of Kim heated up and melted, Carson stripped off his suit, and climbed into Kim's pod. With everything else he was borrowing from her, he figured he might as well.
