The next time Carson woke up, it was with the rest of the crew. A quick look at the readouts said another two years had passed. Sleeping through it or not, there was something very strange about spending two years as a woman. The thing in the cargo bay that used to be Kim had been a bit more calm than the original it seemed. Schultz had been woken up to find it rolling all over the bay, and O'Neil had seen it just sort of hovering, a full meter off the ground in the middle of the room. This though was another heat spike. Carson grit his teeth. A big part of him didn't want to do this, but it was the only way he'd ever get his own body back... and it wasn't right to leave Kim like this for so long. After explaining himself, he said "See you on the other side!" and stepped into the puddle spreading across the floor. It was hot, almost scalding, and there was a bit of that same squelching texture he'd never forget but... that was all. He could still feel all his toes, it wasn't melting him down again. Turning to the others he asked, "Now what?"
