Cheryl hugged one of her babies to her breast and thought about the future. Since her brain was "fixed" she was slowly getting used to thinking for herself again. And what she realized is that she had no desire to desert her fawns by going back to being Chad. Brian, she thought, was a good man. He hadn't taken advantage of her or used her submissiveness to humiliate her the way Vinny had. Her mind turned away from that subject in a hurry, as the fact that the fawns would someday learn who their biological father was was her biggest nightmare.
Poor Brian had been walking on eggshells ever since Cheryl had gotten back from having her brain repaired. As if he were afraid that she would vent the (nonexistent) rage built up from weeks of submission.
"Brian" she said.
"Yes, Cheryl."
"Thank you. Thank you for treating me with respect."
"You're welcome. How are you feeling?"
Cheryl laughed. "Well, I don't feel like Chad, that's for sure."
"So, you're not. . ."
"Lord, no. Even if I wanted to, can you imagine how Chad would deal with having spent weeks as a submissive, pregnant female?" She talked about Chad as if he were someone else, someone she didn't like very much. "Brian?"
"What, Cheryl?"
"My fawns are going to need a father, and if I have anything to say about it it won't be Vinny. Will you be my mate?"
Brian liked this new, assertive Cheryl, but at the same time he had to be honest. "I'd love to, Cheryl, but I'm a buck. I'm not really wired to be monogamous."
Cheryl gave an elegant snort through her cervine nostrils. "Who said anything about monogamous? You want something with Pam once she has her fawns and gets her brain fixed, fine. Just make me your number one doe and help with the fawns."
Brian came and took his mate in his arms. "OK then, my beautiful doe."
Cheryl luxuriated in Brian's powerful grasp and a saying she had heard in Brian's transgender support group came back to her. "All the best males, started as females, and all the best females, started as males."
