Katie gasped as the wizard's spell took place. She also remembered vaguely from somewhere there had been in fact multiple men in history to bear the name Merlin, which meant 'man of the woods', she wondered which Merlin this was.
But this was forgotten she suddenly felt awkward and strange. And though her body and memories hadn't changed, she honestly felt like she was in a body several sizes too big for her. While she still like the idea of being with Jose, the fire that had been there before was gone. She still saw Mary as her adopted sister. For a moment she honestly felt like the seven year old again who had found the ring.
"There. You are now immune to changes in reality to your memories and personality. But I left little subclauses for you to let some in if you wish it in-case someone wishes the world to all have blue skin so you don't go crazy."
"T-thanks."
"Now remember our bargain. You have to bring all of their friends here next to look at the items in my store."
"Your stuff for sale won't do strange things to my friends will they?"
"I'd be lying if I said they likely wouldn't. This is a magic store after all. And magic items are prone to such things. But you did make a promise you'd bring all of them here to browse."
Katie nodded, she had made a promise.
