Mikey spoke up “Hey Alice, how did your father get so afraid of wolves?” May says “Mikey!” Alice says “It’s okay Mrs. Harris, if he wants to know. I can tell it.” Hunter says “I like to hear it too, perhaps it’ll give some idea on how he should overcome it.” Alice says “Okay, if it helps. When Dad was about Mikey’s age, Grandpa took him camping in the woods. One night, a wolf came into the campsite and threatened both Dad and Grandpa, it scared Dad half to death and that all I know.” Martha says “That can’t be the entire story.” Alice says “That was the story Dad told me.” George says “Wolves don’t attack humans unless provoked, there’s got to be a reason why the wolf attacked your father’s campsite.” Alice says “I’ll ask Grandpa about it, he may know why.”
Shortly, everyone is finished dinner. Alice says “Thanks for the interesting evening and dinner.” May says “You’re here more then returning Hunter’s backpack.” Alice says “Guilty as charged, this was Mom’s idea, she suggested that I should get to know Hunter’s family and you didn’t disappoint. The steak is certainly a lot better than Dad’s experimental recipe, chicken-loaf with beats.” He gives Hunter a kiss on the muzzle, “Have a good weekend Hunter, I’ll see you Monday at school.” She walks to the front door and then adds “I’ll have the rest of the story by then.” Nate asks “You’re going to call your Grandfather?” Alice says “Yes, he still remembers the camping trip.”
As Alice opens the front door to leave, a female werewolf with Brownish red fur about to enter but she moved to the side to let Alice pass, Nate says “Kathryn, were you young lady?” Kathryn says “I was on a date tonight, you remember. You set me up with that Auto-mechanic Frank.” James says “Auto-mechanic?” Nate says “I had car trouble, took it to Frank’s Garage to have it fixed. As a favor, Frank saw Kathryn and I helped set up a date for him. I had no idea he picked tonight. I hope the date wasn’t ruined.”
As Nate and James were talking, Kathryn saw Hunter “Cousin Hunter, it’s me Kathryn.” Hunter says “Wow Kath, I thought the males in the family started off as true werewolves.” Kathryn says “So, you head about Dad’s lovebite to mom and Grandma’s cancer story. You forget, I’m a Harris too, I wasn’t bitten, I was born a werewolf. I can’t wait what Grandpa has plans for this weekend. If you like, I can show you how to transform at will both you and Mikey.”
