Katie sighed and looked at her now kid sister. "Okay Mary, " she said. "Ill let you choose what age you want to be under one condition. You can't try to get back at me."
"Fine," the little girl huffed. "But im still mad at you, you big jerkhead."
Katie giggled at Mary's response, which only caused the girl to frown and stick out her tongue. Katie thought it curious how Mary's more childish instincts seemed to be manifesting and now anted to ask Mary some questions.
"Mary," Katie said delicately. "Can I ask you a couple of questions before you grow up again?"
Mary glared at Katie, her patience was wearing thin but she realized in her current state she didn't have much of a choice if she wanted to grow up again. "Okay," she sighed. "Just make it quick."
"How come you seem to be acting like a kid even though you remember being an adult?"
"I don't know," Mary whined. "I like remember being a grown up but I feel like a kid. My head feels mixed up and its getting worse so can you please make me big again.....please with sugar on top."
Katie smiled at her diminutive sister. With each passing moment she was becoming more and more like the kid she was and it was kind of fascinating to watch. "Just some more questions first Mary, I have to make sure I get the wish right. Now how old were you when we first started all this."
"Twenty one! No......Eighteen .....no no, that's not right." Mary tapped her head with her knuckles. "Its slipping away ...!"
"Just focus Mary....you're my sister remember?."
"Yeah sure! But you're such a jerkface!" the little girl said.
"Why am I a Jerkface?" Katie asked.
"Cause you made me a little kid, I'm supposed to be twelve!" Mary insisted stomping her foot.
Katie grinned to herself again mentally. She loved Mary dearly but there was something about this that really fascinated her, plus she always wanted a kid sister. Mentally she wished for the changes to continue. The ring warmed and Mary blinked her eyes. "S'not fair...Im supposed....Im supposed..."
"Supposed to what, Mary?"
Mary blinked and shook her head, then her eyes adjusted and Katie saw a subtle change within them. "Im supposed to be at the movies!" She gasped. "Im late! Why'd you keep me katie!"
Katie giggled, "Because you had wanted me to use the ring of age to make you old enough to see your first pg movie!"
Mary grabbed her arm, "yeah yeah! Come on sis! Let's go."
Katie allowed the little girl to tug her along. Beaming to herself. She knew she could make it up to Mary soon, for now, she wanted her to enjoy being a kid.
