Gisela shut the door as she left the bathroom, leaving Kevin along to contemplate his situation - particularly that an hour ago he was a man and now he was a mermaid. Overcome by what had happened, Kevin broke down crying.
Several minutes later, he heard the door to the hotel room open and close. Gisela had presumably gone to find Lilia. Why was Gisela after Lilia anyway? Kevin considered Gisela's words. Was Lilia a mermaid too? If so, how was she hiding it? Kevin felt terrible about getting drunk and cheating on Lilia, not the least because of his current condition. But, as frustrated as he was with Lilia's somewhat distant behavior, she was a sweet girl and he cared about her. Kevin became determined to warn Lilia, but how?
Then he realized Gisela, in her triumph, had been careless. The necklace lay by the hot tub. Would it work on Kevin as it had on Gisela? Only one way to find out. Kevin put the necklace on and, after a moment, his tail began to feel warm. It slowly split, the scales fading way, and Kevin once again had legs. He climbed out of the hot tub and stood gingerly on his own two feet. But, as Kevin had feared but expected, the necklace had only returned him to human form; he was still female. Gisela had stolen his manhood through her kiss somehow. He looked at his new body in the mirror; Gisela had certainly left him as an attractive woman/mermaid.
He would worry about that later. For now, he slipped on Gisela's discarded sundress and went into the hotel room. A quick check confirmed Gisela had taken his clothes, wallet, keys, and cellphone. Kevin left the hotel room hoping to somehow beat Gisela to Lilia.
