Since I had to live with her now, I had to find enough money to buy a train ticket for both of us.
We were heading to the airport, which was 2 miles from the nearest subway station. Luckily, I still had my ticket for a round trip, and hoped to be able to get Ruby one.
[Hopefully, they cost a billion fucking dollars, so I can go home and not have to deal with her bullshit...]
"Ahem."
I looked up to see Ruby standing over me, her hands behind her back.
"What do you want?" I asked. "I... Well, I'm sorry for... Pretty much everything i've done since we woke up this morning."
I was shocked by her sudden change of heart. "Is this a joke?" She began to make a comeback, but closed her mouth, and said [obviously humbled] "I think that I have been... Rash in my actions, and I would like to be friends."
I thought about it for awhile. One second she was the angriest person i'd ever met, and now she was actually being nice. Trust me, if you'd seen what she was like, you'd be shocked, too.
"Alright," I said. "I guess we can be frie..."
I was cut off by her wrapping her arms around me and squeezing me like an empty toothpaste tube. "Oh, thank god!" She said. "Now I can stop talking like a lawyer."
She took a seat next to me, and looked over at what I was doing. "So, is that a book?"
"Um, yeah." Ruby mouthed the word 'wow' and looked at the pages.
"I never learned how to read." She said. "Too busy with... other stuff."
I got an idea. "Well, maybe I could teach you how. Grammar, spelling, phonics.,,"
"Great!" She said excitedly. "Just one question."
"What?"
"What are all 3 of those things you just named?"
