With the new Perths returning home, their actions in the City were starting to become known. In particular at the restaurant where the Perths had been earlier, where a large squad of police and animal control were now stationed, the restaurant itself sealed off.
“What the Hell happened here?” One Officer, Garner on his Badge queried the Head Chef, the disbelief clearly etched on his face.
“It would be easier for you to see it for yourself.” She replied, motioning for the officer to follow her to an adjacent room. “This is the security footage we have, you will have a hard time believing it, I’ll warn you now.”
He did. Despite the clear evidence of the footage showing a notable majority of the patrons becoming horses as they ate, he continued to shake his head, willing the recording to reveal some kind of trick. But no matter how many times he checked, he could find no evidence of tampering.
“How is this, even, possible?” He asked, half-rhetorically.
“I have no idea. But it happened, and sooner or later, people will be wanting answers. And those answers will be needed soon.”
Further discussion was halted as another officer entered the small room, some notes taken down to be relayed.
“From what we’ve gathered so far, there’s only thing that links everyone who had that…experience.” He euthanized the event. “They all ate meat. That’s it.”
“Is that all?” Officer Garner pushed, clearly annoyed with the lack of good evidence and the weak link.
“I’m afraid that’s it. Everyone…affected…is being taken for further testing, see if there’s anything else to shed light on this.” The other officer explained.
“I see.” Garner put a hand over his forehead. “This is unbelievable. How much crazier can things get?”
“With the media outside. A lot.”

“Let me out of here! Now!” The demands of Daniel bellowed from his cell. His heavy fists banging on the cell walls that unfortunately for him, were more than strong enough to resist.
“Will that thing ever shut up?” One guard grumbled. “And why here? Why not some vet place? Or Zoo?”
“They don’t have the means of keeping it in.” The other one replied. “Which makes us responsible until more specialised services can reach us.”
“I suppose so.” The first one grumbled. “Just wish things could be quieter though.” He added as he tried to keep the noise Daniel was making out of his mind.
“Hey! I want to talk to my Lawyer! You can’t keep me locked up like this!” Daniel kept denying them that luxury.

Back to where the new Perths were, they had just made it to their home now, him getting the car parked and the engine killed.
“Now remember what we agreed on?” The new Jacob Perth asked.
“About?”
“How many of them would end up like Kelly?” He clarified for her. “And that would decide the next move?”
“Ah, yes. But first we need to see what state they’re in.” The new Annabelle stated as she wrapped the coat around her partially-equine form before exiting.
“That we do.” Jacob agreed as he got out as well, catching up to her as she took the first steps inside, the hoofed feet making a heavy clop as she put the coat back up, no longer having anything to cover herself with, save for the cream-yellow fur that coated her once more.
Entering the living room, the new Annabelle Perth was greeted by the site of Kelly Perth a full horse, and clearly in distress. Adding to that June and Mary who were standing without a scrap of clothing on their forms, not dissimilar to her own, along with Melinda and Mel, the former with a set of underwear that barely fit anymore and the latter with a ruined shirt and skirt that hid nothing really.
Of the five who faced them when Jacob came into their view, only Mel wasn’t showing an upset expression.
