CYOTF (Animal)

Rocky Mountain High

added by Anonymous 8 years ago A O

Luke 'woke up' in an unfamiliar patch of woods. Blinking, he looked around for the female that he had dim memories of mounting, but she was gone. As he stood there chewing a mouthful of soft paste, the fog in his head cleared up some and he remembered who he was and how he had gotten here. The costume! Except that it was not a costume any more. In fact, he felt perfectly comfortable on four legs, even his heavy rack of antlers familiar. Part of the moose identity had settled in deep, because being an animal, being here in the woods, all felt perfectly normal. How long had he been here? It took some effort to concentrate on something as abstract as time, but he gradually pieced together information from scents and vague impressions. Not all that long, given the strength of the female's odor. Maybe an hour or so. More than 30 to go, then. He swallowed the mass in his mouth and dropped his head to pull up another mouthful of the long grass.

What now? He had mated. Now he was eating. What else did a moose do? Luke looked around and realized that he had a spectacular view of the mountains. This clearing was halfway up a mountain, though the uneven footing did not bother him at all. He could see out over a huge, heavily-wooded valley surrounded by mountains. It was cool out, but only his exposed nose, ears, and genitals registered that. He shuffled closer to the edge for a better look. Colors were muted, and the mountains were blurred. Everything looked a little grainy and distorted, but the less than perfect vision as more than compensated for by incredible scents that filled his nostrils. Everything had a smell, the grass, the dirt, the trees, the air - and especially his own body. Sounds were all around as well, birds singing, small animals moving through the forest, a breeze rustling leaves,

He stood there for a long time, simply enjoying the flood of sensations. The moose identity began to trickle back, filling in vague memories of this view and many others like it. It did not have the force of lust and need behind it this time, and Luke could have resisted it easily. But he was enjoying this, and felt more curiosity than concern as the animal comprehension slowly dampened human knowledge and intelligence.
