Chronivac Version 4.0

Casually Evolving Mom

added 10 years ago O

Jeff was still considering his options when a voice called his name from downstairs. "Jeff, I'm home! Can you help me with groceries?"

His mom had apparently just gotten home from the grocery store, and that pretty much made his decision for him. "Okay, just a sec!" He called back, fiddling with the chronivac options. He clicked on the "Evolve" option, deciding he'd rather see what his mom might turn into than turn her into a cavewoman, and clicked on the drop down option- after another second of considering, he set it to evolve her by 5,000 years, not too far (hopefully) but far enough that changes should be noticeable. Checking over the options to make sure everything was correct, Jeff activated the emitter, one of the lights on the Chronivac blinking green. Satisfied and eager to see the changes, Jeff left his room and ran downstairs to help his mom.

Almost sprinting down the stairs, Jeff almost collided with his mother, stopping as she passed by the stairs with groceries in her arms. "Whoa, Jeff! I appreciate the enthusiasm, but you're gonna hurt yourself, be careful!" His mom lovingly chastised.

"Sorry, mom..." Jeff muttered, looking her over for changes. His mother (Irene was her fist name, though he'd never call her that) was a somewhat tall, about 5' 10", only a bit taller than him at 16, and she was a tad overweight, as to be expected from birthing and raising two kids, small reservoirs of fat spread across her belly and backside mostly. Her brown hair was kept shoulder length, functional and pretty, framing her womanly face, barely noticeable dark marks under her green eyes and slight crows feet at the edges, due to the pressures of being a single working mother. She was wearing her typical casual clothes, a light tan sweater and black sweat pants, nothing fancy but something classy enough to wear to the grocery store. All in all, she was the exact same woman Jeff always knew, and that was a bit disappointing.

"Jeff? You feel like helping, or you just want to stare all day?" Irene asked her teenage son, still standing in the stairway.

"Oh, yeah, right!" Jeff said, blinking a few times before squeezing past his mom out to the front door. Irene shook her head, rolling her eyes and smiling gently to herself, thinking how like his late father Jeff was. Then she turned and carried the groceries she was carrying to the kitchen, unaware of the changes she was about to go through.
