Jose, a Mexican kid from the south side of the city, was 18 and bored. He wondered why he bought the stupid game. Well, he hadn't actually paid for it, but it was a purchase compared to most of his 'acquirements'.
He slapped the game down on the table when he got back to the two-room dive he shared with his room-mates, Pablo, who was a Filipino worker in his 20's, and Theo, a black man of 20. Pablo and Lester looked at the game in disbelief.
"What the hell is this, Jose?" Theo scoffed at the dusty box. He was taller than the other two, though Jose probably weighed as much due to the fact that he was a bit bulky.
"That's all they had, I thought we could play it to pass some time." The fact was, all three were out of work, on probation, and not inclined to be out in the heat of the summer day. They weren't exactly friends, having been thrown together due to circumstances, but there wasn't anything else to do. So they sat down.
