Her sister found a seat near the back with some of her friends. Jen was amazed to see that nobody seemed to notice her exposed breasts, not even the boys sitting near the back as Ali walked past. As Jen found a seat she thought that she might try wearing something a little more revealing the next day, just to test the waters. It was either that or start wearing hoodies in the summer time.
Once seated, she noticed that Suzy wasn't there. Cursing the luck but still determined to be nice to someone, she scanned the length of the bus looking for passengers who weren't likely to react poorly to a simple compliment.
She came from an upper-class home and everyone knew it. Plenty of boys wanted her, and a lot of the girls were jealous, with the exception of her best friend and a few of the girls on cheer squad and swim team.
Unfortunately that meant that most of the boys would assume she was coming on to them or making fun of them, and most of the girls would think she was fishing for compliments.
Looking around at the other students she realized that she’d made an enemy of just about everyone in that bus at some point...
She thought about how patronizing she usually was. Just last week she had made fun of Tim for a stain on his shirt. A couple days ago she laughed at Felicia’s new bracelet, accusing her of getting it from a quarter machine...
Wondering why there were so few kids, she remembered a rumor from yesterday that some bug was going around. Maybe that’s why Suzy wasn't there.
Jen noticed Brian sitting near the front. He was somewhat plain looking and usually kept to himself. She had never really belittled him and decided that it might be an opportunity to say something nice.
She slipped out of her seat, quietly moved up a couple rows, and slid in next to Him. He was surprised and with a slight stutter said, “uh... What’s up?”
"I just wanted to chat. I've seen you in a few of my classes but you’re usually really quiet. Is something wrong with you?" Jen asked.
“Fuck all,” she thought, already off to a bad start.
Fortunately she didn't change. He must have read it as sarcasm.
“No.” He laughed. “I’m a bit of an introvert. I tend to keep quiet unless I’m interested in the conversation.”
“Are you interested in this conversation?” She poked back.
“It’s a bit too early to tell, what would you like to talk about?” He replied with a smile.
The conversation continued until they arrived at the school. She was surprised to find out that they had pretty good chemistry and even a few common interests.
“We should chat more often,” Brian said has he offered her a hand down.
She grabbed hold and said “Sure, same time tomorrow?” As she stepped off the bus.
They said goodbye and left for different parts of the building.
As she walked, she noticed that her shirt was feeling tighter; her groin was just the opposite.
She had hardly noticed the change during their conversation.
“That wasn't so hard,” she thought, as she pushed through the door into the school...
