Chronivac Version 4.0

The Complexity of the Chronivac

added by Anonymous 9 years ago O

Note: This branch of the story is to be as internally realistic as possible. Think logically about the realistic outcomes of any and everything the characters and the Chronivac do, and keep all rules and limitations in mind. (Though feel free to break the 20ft distance rule, as well as the "can only transform life forms into other life forms" rule, since those aren't fun.)

One rule change here will be that the "Save" button doesn't activate the transformation. What software would be designed that way? Rather, it "saves a template", for use later. There is an "Perform Transform" button, instead, which initiates the alteration.

----

Damien cracks his knuckles as the software finishes installing. Never one to dismiss a something seemingly crazy offhandedly, he treated this self-touted "transformation device" as if it were real, and carefully contemplated a safe test.

He grabbed a little potted plant from the downstairs and brought it to his room, putting it on the table across from his computer, oriented the program onto it and commanded,

>>Transform into a small cactus<<

And hit 'Perform'. He stared over at the plant glazey-eyed, until the plant started changing into a cactus, and his eyes flew open.

"Ho... ly..." He became short of breath.

"Well then!"

>>Revert previous change<<

Predictably, the plant returned to normal.

Damien spent over an hour frantically pacing his room. His life, as he knew it, was now over. Existing as he has as a human in a finite universe was no longer applicable; he is now effectively a God.

As he rings his hands together, thinking on the scale of his power that the software seems to have available to him, Damien's gravity of importance overpowers this story and becomes the second-person.

You finally sit back in front of your computer once more, and have decided what you're going to do.
