The arena fight

added 8 years ago I O

You look at your twin and cock your head, waiting for her to tell you what she's thinking. She, in turn, is grinning maniacally at this point. "So you know how you brought me in here?" She says, "How about we bring someone else in." You send her a thought of questioning affirmation and she continues, "I was thinking maybe people from school. Bring them in but don't tell them anything, play around with them." You consider the idea, you don't really want your classmates to know you can do this, but it should be easy enough to keep them in the dark. You form an idea, then send it to your sister.

"Sounds like a good idea!" she says, sounding a bit more excited that the situation calls for. Actually, scratch that, she sounds about how excited she should be for being able to play god, or at least being able to give instructions to someone who can. The first thing you do is change the island slightly. Primarily, you add little traps and triggers, things people could set and activate, but that won't go off by themselves. Then you teleport your sister and you to the clearing that you started in, and create a small building. Actually not so much a building as much as a room. You embellish it with a big blue sphere, glowing with a flowing sort of plasma, simply because you can.

Next you turn to your sister and push her the idea of her math class with a questioning feeling. "That sounds good." she says. You chose that one because it's one of the few classes you don't share, and it also has two of your mutual friends in it. You concentrate on her class being here, but not awake, you imagine them all asleep, lying in a circle around the building. They appear, all of them dressed as if it's a school day. You decide to push the envelope even farther and imagine them dressed however they were when they fall asleep. Your classmates are now arrayed on the ground in pajamas, clothes, underwear, and one or two completely naked. How they can sleep like that in the middle of winter, you have no clue. Jessie stifles a chuckle as she sees her classmates, she herself now dressed in pajamas. You then complete the last part necessary, you turn yourself into essentially a free-floating consciousness, not visible or tangible. Able to enter minds and objects, teleport at will, and essentially be omnipotent while being undetectable. You then rush into the sphere on top of the building and signal your sister for the go-ahead.

Your sister goes and shakes your friends, Martin and Cass, awake. "Ugh where are we?" Cass moans, sitting up. "I don't know," your sister replies, "I just woke up. Help me wake everyone else up, it looks like our entire math class is here." In short order, everyone's awake, and very, very confused. You let them mingle for a bit, or in the case of the naked ones, stand there awkwardly trying to cover themselves. After a few minutes of confusion, you let your voice emit from the ball, except rather than what you'd imagine your voice would be, you let the one that emerges be a deep announcers voice. "Welcome, to the Arena!" the ball rattles. The chatter among them immediately goes silent. "Here you will battle to the death!" If possible, they become even quieter. Your sister is hysterical over your mental link, but somehow keeps a straight face. You knew she was an actor, but you had no clue she was this good. "Not your actual death mind you, you'll all get to continue your lives after this, but rather, your death in the arena!" That leaves them even more confused, but there are a few audible sighs of relief. "Anyway, I'll go over the rules real quick. You're all going to be split into teams of three and transported around the island here. The last three to survive will win win a fabulous prize!!! What prize that is, you'll have to wait and see. Anyway, when you enter your armory you'll be given a super power, yea an honest to goodness superpower, and a couple of other devices which will balance out your power. You'll then be transported somewhere with the rest of your team. Anyway, you guys can enter whenever you want, one at a time please! Oh and I almost forgot, the last three don't all have to be on the same team!" With that, you leave the orb and course around through the crowd. A quiet murmuring ripples through the crowd as they discuss. No one really wants to be the first one to enter inside, but Jessie pulls Martin and Cass over to it. "Come on guys, we might as well get this over with." Next to the door you had created a green sign saying, "Next". Jessie walks in, waves to everyone, then presses a button on the side. The door slides shut and she's put in stasis for the moment as the room places her in a storage space below, then opens back up. "Uhh, Jess?" Martin calls, "you there?" After receiving no reply, he tentatively steps into the room, before shrugging and pressing the button. The process repeats with the remaining teens. When there's no one left, you start to go through everyone. You split them into separate rooms, and first enter their heads. You then bring them out of stasis and open a slot in the wall to reveal a jumpsuit. You mentally instruct them to put it on. Some do it immediately, gracious to have anything to wear, others refuse, or at least, they do until you vaporize their clothes. Then you concentrate on them gaining a random ability. Not too powerful, but something that would at least be useful in the arena. Lastly you offer them options from the armory. Each person gets to choose a certain amount of power in terms of equipment, more if their power is weak, less if the opposite is true. The options available change with each person. From electric bolas, to a shrink ray to a jetpack, to simple walkie talkies, to X-ray vision goggles, to a device that lists what someone is thinking right now, to laser poi, to a modification of the suit that makes it invisible, to a sword that was essentially a lightsaber. There's a hug variety given to different people.

When it comes to your sister though, you make a small exception. As she comes out of stasis and dons the uniform. You send her a though, questioning which power she wants. She replies by saying: "I want the ability to......"
