You decide to tell her what you've figured out so far about what's going on. However, you don't really quite really know how to. You could try to explain it all by signing it to her, but most of the knowledge you've gleaned transcend words as ideas. They just aren't things you feel you can explain. You think while Jessie looks at you expectantly, then you remember. After doing the mental equivalent of a facepalm, you sign to your sister to trust you again, then start to reach forward. This time she doesn't resist, she just closes her eyes as you place your hands on either side of her head. While not strictly nessecary, if you can get away with theatrics, why not? You concentrate on all of the knowledge you've gained about this situation, then mentally concentrate on pushing it towards Jessie. Her eyes burst open and she immediately lashes backward, almost hitting her head on the floor as you catch her just in time. "First of all," she murmurs, "get out of my head." Embarrased, you think about it, and the link vanishes. Perhaps sensing your dismay, her tone softens, "I kind of understand why you did it, and I don't really care right now, but I don't really want you in my head either." Nodding, you decide that you're done sitting on the cold ground. You concentrate on a couch and flop down on it, your sister joining you on the L shaped peice of furniture. "Secondly, cooooool! Looks like whatever's causing this is specific to you though, because I can't do it. Third, why haven't you made it so you can talk yet?" You startle a bit at the last part. You grew up mute your entire life, and sure you'd thought about being able to talk, but it had never been an attainable goal. Now though, you're in a situation where it's possible, and yet now that you're thinking about it, you don't really want to. You start signing to your sister that growing up without being able to speak, you learned to think differently than everyone else. The absence of words meant that you think primarily in ideas, not in sentences. Your signing shows this too, you somehow ended up with a teacher that let you communicate via representations of ideas in sign language, rather than sentences. As you tell Jessie this, you also sign that you're going to try something. You concentrate on a link between your two minds that let's you communicate via thoughts. You feel the link form, and push the idea of it to Jessie. "Cool," she replies mentally, you respond by communicating happiness and affirmation.

As your twin messes around with the mental connection, you turn you attention to the world. The empty sky above you is really getting to you, so you concentrate on the world being more familiar and comfortable. The sky immediately turns a bright blue, with perfect fluffly clouds drifting throughout. Looking down, the cold stone has turned into soft grass, interlaced with wildflowers. The ground doesn't continue forever now either, about a mile in every direction the ground appears to stop. Looking around, there are far away shapes that look like floating islands dispersed throughout the sky. To your left, there's a hilly area with a stream threading through it. Following the stream to you right, it leads into a picturesque forest. There isn't anything left of the old world except you, your sister, and the couch. Though there wasn't much more than that in the first place.

Your sister looks around in awe for a moment, before jumping up. She's exuding the thought of wanting to going exploring powerfully through the link. You give her a mental nudge, showing her what she's doing and the thoughts stop. She looks at you sheepishly, but that doesn't stop her from tearing of her shoes and yelling, "Come on!" at you. You follow suit and lose your own shoes, before attempting to catch up to her. You chase her into a clearing you find her, stopped for breath, rolling in the grass. You smile, even if it is a dream, it's been a while since you've seen her this happy, and you know, somehow, you just know, that this really is her. Looking at her, rolling in the grass, she reminds you of something. Struck with an idea, you pulse a feeling of trust towards her. She rolls to look at you expectantly as you wink at her and start to concentrate.

At first, she's completely oblivious, her head cocks in a puzzled manner as her auburn hair begins to turn golden orange, streaked with white. Her ears come to a point and begin to travel up her head as her already short hair gets even shorter. The hair then starts to spread outward. It ripples down her face and neck. She doesn't even really notice until her nose starts to change. As her face becomes more feline, she looks worried, but you send thoughts of trust and comfort which seem to cause her to relax. She screws up her face for a second, then rolls on her side as a tail pokes out, finishing her change. She bats at it for a moment and you nearly burst out laughing at the feline gesture. She starts to glare, but you send her a memory of the adorable scene and she giggles too. She trys to stand up, but almost falls over backwards before you catch her. She brushes you off and manages to stay up, then falls on the first step. You stifle a laugh and your sister turns and growls at you. She cuts short though and tries to speak again before mentally asking, "You wanna try?" You push her an image of digitgrade feet standing. She huffs at you, but tries again and get's it this time.

While she practices walking, you concentrate of turning yourself into a partial bird. While Jessie is partially a tiger, you opt for a white owl. You feel your hair turn into feathers before cascading down your back. The sleeves of your shirt reform around your arms, now complete with wings below, so as not to obstruct flight. You opt to avoid a beak, rather you leave your face much as I was.

Walking towards Jessie, you shrink both of you down to 4ft tall, then you take off. You circle for a moment and urge Jessie to explore, before she leaps on to all fours and races away. You trail after her through the woods, then over the hills, around the entire island, before ending at the lone mountain on the island.

As you land and restore both of you to fully human, Jessie turns to you with a michevious grin on her face. Her famous grin to be exact. The one that tells everyone who knows her that she's going to cause trouble, or break some rules, or get revenge, or just have fun in a crazy, unusual way. I've been told that physically, we're nothing alike, except for one thing, we share that grin.
