Heartfriends... and Plans for the Evening...

added by s1 8 years ago O

The kiss felt wonderful, and within your chest, you felt your heart flutter as you kissed Tulipelle. It was odd, as you remembered being a man and being human, but yet, here you were, female, a fairy, and kissing another fairy who you'd just agreed to be heartfriends with. It represented great change in your life that you never could have predicted, but nothing felt more natural than to be with Tulipelle. After a few moments, the two of you broke the kiss and smiled to each other.

"I suppose we should tell Dandal and Rosetta that we've settled things," you said to her.

"And prepare for more of Rosetta's teasing," Tulipelle said with a sigh.

Rosetta's teasing had been a bit embarrassing, but a part of you wondered if that was the very thing that helped the two of you come as far as you had. After all, if Tulipelle's heart spoke to her that you were one she could love from the moment she saw you, and your heart, after becoming Irisette, said the same to you when you first woke up only an hour earlier, wouldn't Rosetta have some sense on this since she was a fairy as well. The only thing that really embarrassed you with regard to Rosetta and Dandel was that yours and Tulipelle's falling in love had interrupted the planning for Dandel and Rosetta's bonding ceremony.

"If what Dandel said is true... that she's been looking for someone to make you happy... I think she'll be happy to see us together," you gave a shrug.

"Oh she will... and she'll rub the fact that she was right in our faces, given how many times she's looked for heartfriends for me and failed," Tulipelle answered, "She might even look at trying to get us to having a bonding ceremony with her and Dandel..."

"A double ceremony..." you mused with an almost mischievous smile, "we'd best have some dates and get to know each other better before then, don't you think?"

Tulipelle gave a bit a laugh and playfully swatted at your arm for a moment, "I think you'll make a wonderful fairy with that sort of attitude."

You only smiled back to her. Being with her made you happy, and while there were matters concerning your human family and wanting them to know that you were okay and that they didn't have to worry, seeing Tulipelle smile gave you confidence that that could be dealt with. The two of you stood up and then hugged for a moment. After a moment, Tulipelle did speak again.

"But a date wouldn't be too bad an idea," Tulipelle spoke, "We could go out... see the village and the best views of it... the best places... have a nice dinner... maybe get some more of those cherries you like so much..."

You actually giggled at the memory of the magically charged fruit that turned you into Irisette.

"Maybe take Dandel and Irisette along," you commented, "as a way to make up for our drama getting in the way of their bonding ceremony..."

"This wasn't their bonding ceremony, just planning for it," Tulipelle corrected, "but that wouldn't be too bad an idea..."

You nodded and looked toward the door that lead out into Dandal's living room, where you were sure they'd be waiting. You took a deep breath and placed one arm around Tulipelle's shoulders while Tulipelle did the same with you. The two of you then walked out and found Rosetta and Dandal seated a couch and looking through the book of dresses that they were considering for their bonding ceremony. As the two of you came out, they both looked up, and Rosetta's triumphant smile returned as well.

"So, did the two of you settle things?" Rosetta asked.

"Yes," Tulipelle answered, pressed her side against you, "I now have a heartfriend, Irisette MoonGlow."

"We're happy for you, Tulipelle," Dandal said with a smile before Rosetta could say anything.

"We'd like to do something to make up for our drama getting in the way of you picking your dresses," you said her, "We were thinking on going on a bit of a tour and going out for dinner as a first date tonight... and figured..."

"You'd like to come along," Tulipelle added, "It could be a double date. I'd even pay for everything. Just our way of apologizing for getting in yours..."

"You didn't have to do that," Dandel began, "we..."

"We'd love to!" Rosetta declared with a smile, "Irisette can tell us more about herself and we can look out over the best views... it'd be beautiful."

"Just don't push them into a bonding ceremony, Rosetta," Dandal warned, "remember... our heats may give us an indication of love... but faires don't become amorapromised on the first date."

"Unless Cliodhna smiles on the pair," Rosetta said with smile, which only made Dandel and Tulipelle shake their heads. You privately wondered at who or what Cliodhna was. You guessed that Cliodhna was a god or goddess to fairies.

"So, when will the date start then?" Rosetta asked.

"I'd say around six in the evening," you spoke, trying to be careful in case fairies had different terms for how they measured time.

"That sounds like a good time," Dandal nodded, "So what will the two of you be doing until then?"

"Well..." Tulipelle said slowly...
