Kellie gaped and her now seven year old daughter before looking at herself. "That's weird," she said. "I thought that as I got younger you got older I wonder why when you became young again I didn't become older."
Katie looked at her mom anxiously she had worried her mom would begin to question what was going on if Katie became seven again. Quickly she tried to come up with a excuse. "Maybe the magic is starting to wear off," she said. "I'm seven again maybe it's only a matter of time before you become your old self again."
Kellie turned to her daughter and smiled. "Well don't want to think about being old just yet and besides who knows if I'll get to play with you like this again."
Katie sighed with relief as the three seven year olds began to play. Grace, Kellie and Katie bounced on their bed laughing happily for several hours. As the night dragged on the girls began to grow tired. Sleepily the three girls made their way into Kellie's room where.they snuggled together and fell into a blissful slumber.
It was early in the morning as Kellie stretched her youthful limbs. Glancing at herself and her young friends she smiled. "Guess I'm still a kid," she whispered as she hopped out of bed and made her way to the bathroom. After using the bathroom Kellie quietly padded back the bedroom to wake up her friends. "Grace, Katie," she said as she gently nudged them. "Wake up. It's 6 a.m. and a school day. We should have some breakfast before we leave."
Grace and Katie slowly stretched before bounding out of bed with a smile. "Okay Kellie," Grace said. "Breakfast sounds great I'm starving."
The three children raced downstairs giggling as they entered the kitchen. Trying to put something together to eat proved to be nearly impossible as they were too young to reach a lot of the ingredients to cook. "This is hopeless," Kellie sighed after trying to stand on tiptoes. "Were too small, I can't reach any of the pans to cook with."
"So what are we going to eat then?" Grace asked. "I'm really hungry and want somethig." Grace glanced over at Katie and beckoned her close. "Maybe you should make one of us older so we can eat." She whispered. Katie nodded she had thought of that but was wondering how to do it with her mom standing right there.
"You know we still have to figure out what were going to do about school," Kellie said. "What," Katie said. "Sorry mom I was lost in thought." Kellie padded over to her daughter and smiled. "We need to figure out what to do about school," she said. "None of us sound very adult anymore and I really don't want to go back to first grade."
"So what's your idea mom," she asked. "I don't know," Kellie said. "I mean I wouldn't mind going back to kindergarten or even preschool but I'm a little unsure of the magic. That and who knows if I'd be stuck like that."
"What about being older," Katie asked. Kellie smiled and shrugged. "I mean it would be great to be older even though I really am enjoying being a kid. Who knows maybe we can do this again sometime if we ever figure the magic out."
Katie looked at her seven year old mom and smiled. An idea was forming in her head as she made a wish.
