Mary gazed down at her remaining friends. Fearful she could possibly erase them as she did Tricia she was apprehensive of making another wish. "Pwease Mawee," Claudia whined. "Make us big gwirls." Sighing Mary looked down at her ring. "I hope this works," she thought as she wished Claudia, Samantha, and Mika to become seven years old.
The girls shuddered as they slowly began to grow. Mary watched as the girls grew slowly becoming four, then five, then six. The chubiness of toddlerhood replaced by the leanness of young childhood. The girls smiled as they shot past the six year old Mary becoming seven. The first grade girls looked down at the kindergarten friend with a warm smile. "Thanks Mary," Mika sighed. "That was so weird. I was starting to think like a three year old but how come your still only six?"
Before Mary could answer a tingle spread over her body. Alarmed the young girl watched as her body slowly began to grow again. Now a first grader like her friends Mary watched as she shot past her friends and became eight. The now second grade girl looked over herself. She was now the tallest girl in the group, her night shirt had risen slightly resting knee high instead of just below. Alarmed she looked at her friends who had confused looks on their face.
"Mary did you wish yourself older?" Samantha asked. Mary shook her head vigorously. "No," she whined. "It just happened I don't....." Mary paused, her wish to be the oldest was still in effect. While she no longer stole years from her friends she would be the oldest girl in the room until she could figure things out. Looking down at the ring Mary now worried about her future, would she continue to alter people's ages, could she get Tricia back? Tears began to dampen her eyes as she looked at her friends. "I wish our moms were here to help us," she moaned.
Quickly she covered her mouth, she hadn't meant to wish for that and cursed herself for her irresponsible wish. She wasn't sure if the ring could bring there moms to her home. Anxiously she listened only to here voices carrying from the other room. Mary's heart rapidly beat as she slowly made her way into the other room. "Mom," she asked. "Is that you?"
Mary and the other girls were stunned by what they saw. Their mothers now sat in Mary's living room talking and chatting comfortable. The women who were formerly in their fifties had been returned to their thirties, when Mary and her friends were originally this age. "Hi sweety," Mary's mother Megan said. "Are you having fun with your friends?"
Mary stared in stunned silence. The ring had brought their mothers to her home and they now talked happily as if they had set up a play date for their daughters. As Mary and her friends looked at their rejuvenated mothers they wondered what could possibly happen next.
