Erick walked to the left, leaving the others behind. At thirteen, Erick had diagnosed by several doctors with paranoid personality disorder. He had always believed that there have been people out to get him, which couldn't be farther from the truth, but he decided that he could come to this haunted house with his friends (or were they all out to get him?) despite his fears of the large Spelstorm Manor that stood upon the hill. He inched along, searching every crevase of the room that he was in. The room was a study, the bright light of the moon left an erie feeling. Erick picked up the cover off one of the tables. On the desk sat a letter (Erick had blown off the amassed amount of dust off of it), it was written to Mr. Spelstorm and it went like this:
Dear Richard Spelstorm,
I am awaiting my payment on your transformation machine.. You know I have your daugher. If you don't pay me within the next several days, I will be forced to get rid of your lovely daugher, Wendy.. Wouldn't you hate it if Wendy was to die so young? I'm sure you would. Therefore, I would like my payment A.S.A.P, or your daughter gets what was coming to her for those long, long, spoiled years she spent witin the Spelstorm mansion. I demand $500,000 (about $50,000,000 in our times), or your daughter gets sliced and diced, you understand? I knew you would...
Signed,
Edward Porgorgov
Erick, being hugely creeped out by this letter, threw it back down upon the desk.. Erick, then being completely uncurious, decided to run into the next room over. Being completely uncoordinated, he ran into a bookshelf. Then and there, Erick had noticed something he hadn't noticed before, there was something glowing behind the book case... Sliding the bookcase to the right, the light coming from whatever behind the bookcase was growing brighter and brighter...
Behind the bookcase stood an old-fashioned steel elevator (it was apparent there were more floors upon the building), Erick had always been afraid of elevators, but this one could lead to something good... Erick gets inside of the elevator, and there are 6 buttons, leading to floor -3, -2, -1, 0 (the one he was on now), 1, and 2. Being curious once again, Erick presses button number...
