Despite your anxiety, you steel yourself and decide to go to school. You need to keep your grades up if you want to get into a good school and missing a week won't do you any favors. Besides, if your mom found out, it would cause no end of trouble. Double-checking to make sure your tail is tucked firmly inside your boxers, you grab your bag and head off to school.
Thankfully, it appears no one notices your changes. While magic and magicians were well-known throughout the world, and from time to time you could spot a person who had been obviously magically altered, high school was not a place that kindly accepted deviations from the norm. Those considered strange were labeled "freaks" and looked down upon, and while bullying officially was not allowed, what adults didn't see never really concerned them. It was all about looking the part, and it didn't truly matter what the reality was.
You were never in the "in" crowd, but neither were you in the "freaks." Rather, you were simply someone who hung around the periphery, just getting by. While others bragged about their latest shopping exploits or newest gadgets, you poured your energy into your books. While you weren't shunned, you didn't have any particularly close friends either, but rather were someone who was usually greeted in passing.
Painfully aware of the attention you would receive if your tail was found out, you struggled to concentrate through most of the day. Traci had actually come to school as well, although she wore a face mask and hat which seemed a little bizarre. However, she had apparently convinced the teachers that it was necessary because she had a cold, and it served to hide her slightly-lengthened face, teeth, and ears. Gina, on the other hand, had not shown up at all, and you wondered if she had come clean to her parents in exchange for staying out of school that week. Empathizing with how difficult it must be, you almost feel sorry for the two of them. That is, until Traci noticed your compassionate gaze, and snapped, "What're you looking at, do...ehaww..rk?"
Well, almost felt sorry. From that point on you couldn't help but grin surreptitiously as Traci avoided the attentions of Jason Drake, her rather profligate boyfriend, who couldn't help staring at her enhanced legs. His buddy, Carl Mason, couldn't help but glance appreciatively as well, and you idly wondered how evolved he liked the legs of the opposite sex. Amazingly, the rest of the day passed rather uneventfully, except for the occasional cramp in your curled-up tail.
Arriving at the store, you didn't see the Game Master around, but made your way to the back anyway. You reminded yourself to ask the Game Master whether the store had a rear entrance, as you didn't want anyone to see you entering and leaving every day. Stepping inside the changing room, you finally drop your drawers and release your tail, much to your relief. The butler's uniform once again looks perfectly pressed, and you note the boxers laid out are not the same pair as you wore yesterday. However, one thing is similar: both the pants and the boxers still have a hole for your tail. You sigh, but figure at least your secret is safe while in the store, since you won't look like yourself. Somewhat more familiar with the process today, you manage to dress yourself relatively quickly, and teeter only a bit from the familiar sensation of change. You stare in the mirror at the male face to which you are slowly becoming accustomed, and your tail wags slightly. Straightening your tie, you step back into the store.
