The customer happened to be a bird. Some pigeon really that was cooing near the Game Master. The Game Master nodded and said "Well i'm happy to help you with your change, but let's make this interesting."
You walk up to the Game Master and ask "Are you alright?"
The game master chuckled and said "I suppose you can't understand, but some magicians can talk to certain animals and I happen can talk to pigeons among other animals including humans."
"But why are you giving a service to a pigeon when it can't p..." You stopped yourself and a second latter the Game Master chuckled.
He explained "I'm not doing this for money, but for entertainment in seeing what occurs. While humans are my favorite subjects a simple pigeon can give interesting events as well. So then pigeon how about we do a shell game?" he snapped his fingers and three shells appeared on a table and a small odd sunflower seed appeared in the Game Master's hand then said "This seed will give you whatever you want. Food forever, immortality, humanity, anything. If you get it wrong then just fly off, I don't think I can find anything interesting about the detriment of a poor pigeon."
The pigeon cooed a bit and then the game master said "fine fine, i'll change you in some way. Take off a percentage of your life span or change your gender or something. Just don't expect something too horrid that'll dramatically effect your life." The Game Master put the seed in the middle shell and then quickly shuffled around the shells. Looking closely everything blurred together. The pigeon pecked the right shell and the Game Master lifted it revealing the seed. The pigeon snapped up the seed and flew out of his little game corner.
You asked "So how was that interesting? The bird just randomly won and got a seed. Sure the bird will be changed, but we wont know what the change is."
The Game Master said "You don't get how magic works do you? What I see happens is more than what happens in front of my eyes. I can use my magic to see things like the future of others. The only reason i'm here is to make sure I can give others an interesting future that can put a smile on my face."
You ask "So will I get a good future?"
The Game Master said "I guarantee you that you'll have an interesting future. Whether that future is good or not depends on what you do and how you view that future. Now then how about you wag that little tail of yours and help me with some of the other customers. I'll make sure not to hand you off to a bird."
