A thought struck me.
"Keru," I said. "You do know how people in this world think of, y'know..."
"Hmm?" Her ears perked up. "Think of what?"
"Well, uh, people who are..." I gulped. "Like you."
"You mean foxes?" She asked, confused.
"No, no, I mean people who are magical."
She looked down. "Oh." Keru sighed as she continued changing her clothes. "I've been told about how you think of us."
"No, It doesn't mean I hate you, but other people won't like seeing a kitsune in the middle of a restaurant."
"Well," She said. "I can solve that."
She inhaled deeply, and spread her arms. Immediately, her face began to change. Her muzzle shrank back into her face, and her nose and mouth seperated.
Her blue fur began retreating into her body, and her pink skin quickly gained a deep tan.
Her ears descended from the top of her head to the sides, becoming round and human-like, though still rather pointy.
She dropped her arms to her side. "Better?"
I was stunned at what had just occured. "So kitsune really can shape shift?"
"Of course," She replied, laughing. "It usually happens instantly, but I thought it'd be fun for you to watch my powers in action."
"Well, it was interesting, alright. And by the way," I said, adjusting my watch. "It's time for a date."
