Laying back on your bed you decide it's time to see how much of reality the flashlight has changed. You close your eyes and picture yourself many years ago...
You're in the sixth grade. The end your last elementary year is almost here. You're shopping for something special to wear for graduation, but at your size nothing is grown up enough. All the heels are too long, and any dress that fits is meant for a smaller child, not a sophisticated women like yourself. It is the first time your parents have your dress custom tailored. It will continue that way through high school. You remember how you were teased during middle school for not only your size, but the clothes you had to wear because of it. By high school, you had reached your current height, leaving you a little on the small side, but not shockingly small. The only sport you were ever good at was gymnastics, but one look at the work it took and you parents said no. As it turns out, your bones have weakened when you shrunk, so you are very fragile. A gymnastics accident could break a bone and ruin your body, the only thing you had going for you. Education wise, you're no genius, but you're not as dumb as the other pretty girls in your school were. As for a boyfriend, you have none. It's not that you don't want to. It's just that cute boys are so hooked on having sex that, strangely enough, they come off as creepy to you. You wonder what happened to your girlfriend only to realize that she is now your best friend. Even stranger, all your friends that were boys have become their female counter-parts.
You open your eyes again and see that an hour has passed while you were asleep. It's no big deal; you had nothing else planned for today. As you think it over, you realize that being a girl has its downsides. You don't regret the decision to try it out though, and are going to give it some more time before considering making the change back.
