You look out the front window drinking a cup of hot chocolate and thinking back on your life. You can still remember that full moon night eleven years ago when your life changed forever, the night you first transformed into a werewolf. The thing is that you didn't know how you became a werewolf. You know you weren't born one and you weren't bitten by one. You didn't even have sex with one. The best you and your new family could figure out is that you got scratched by a branch or something similar very soon after a werewolf was scratched.
The change into a werewolf was weird enough but it got even weirder. That's because you had been a man in his thirties before the change and after you were a five year old girl. How that happened no one has been able to really figure out. One theory, and it seems the most plausible, is that the magic that's responsible for the transformation had a little hiccup upon the transformation back into human.
You smiled a little as you remembered being a naked little girl in the woods not knowing what to do. You had known you couldn't go back to your old life since no one would have believed you were who you had been. It was lucky that your new family had come across you after their own night out running. As it turned out your new mom and dad were able to take you in before the next full moon and a couple years later officially adopted you. Of course you had to come up with a story to explain why there was no record of you so you said that you only knew your name as Sara and people touched you where they shouldn't have been. When asked to name those people or describe them you said they never spoke and were always covered so you couldn't see them or they had put something over your eyes.
It took you a little bit to adjust to being a girl and a werewolf but once you did you were truly happy for the first time you could remember. That is until six months ago when it became known that werewolves exist. This thought entered your mind as you saw your former classmates gather at the bus stop to go to school. School had just started when the incident took place and fearful people rushed to pass laws to protect humanity from the monsters. One of those laws allowed the schools to kick any werewolf out of school. Of course since you had to come out as a werewolf yourself and your school decided to kick werewolves out you had to stay at home while your supposed friends went to school.
As had happened on other mornings about four cartons of eggs were produced and they started to egg your house. "Another day of cleaning," your mom sighed as she placed an arm around you.
"I just wish they'd realize that I don't mean them any harm," you said leaning into your mom. "Why can't they see past the differences to the person?"
"As a black woman I've asked myself that many times," your mom said shaking her head. You knew what she was talking about, your town did have quite a few racists in it and many kids had said you were betraying your race by not killing your family.
"Do you think last night's 'The People's Talk' will make any difference?" you asked watching eggs hit the window.
"I don't know but I hope so," your mom said. "Come on breakfast is ready." Your mom turned you away from the window and led you into the dining room. As you sat down to eat you wondered what the day would bring.
