It began when I made her clothes disappear

A Little Fashion Show

The mother said, "All right, I accept your apology. Let's go over to the dressing rooms, and Olivia will model for you."

Olivia took the outfits from her mother and went into the dressing rooms. The mother sat down in one of the semicircles of chairs, and Jarred and Sam sat in the same semicircle. They noticed that there was a small intercom built into the arm of each chair.

The mother used it as Olivia appeared in the window in front of them, saying, "Okay, honey, let's try the pink one first."

Jarred and Sam were pretty much enraptured as Olivia tried on the outfits in front of them, right there on the other side of the glass. She only ever got down to bra and panties, but that was much more than the two teenage boys normally got to see in "real life."

The two of them did manage to listen as the mother made conversation with them, talking about the fact that her daughter's date was with a real "catch," a high school junior who was in honors classes and on the wrestling team. "He's already given womanhood to a couple of Olivia's friends," she said.

Sam asked, "What about helping a guy gain their manhood?"

The mother said, "Oh, of course. Olivia is such a caring and loving person that I'm sure she will be happy to -- wait, are you asking for yourselves?"

Sam said, "Well, now that you mention it --"

Jarred elbowed him. "Sam's joking. We gained our manhood years ago," he lied.

In the end, the three of them decided that the sexiest outfit was a blue metallic minidress with some side cutouts.

Once Olivia had changed back into her original outfit and emerged from the dressing room, her mother said, "Say thank you to these boys for their help. They think John's really going to like you in that blue dress."

Olivia smiled shyly.

Sam realized what name had just been said and asked, "Wait a minute -- John?"

"Yes," said the mother, and then, "Oh, I'm sorry, I should have asked if you knew him. John Burke from Jefferson High?"

Jarred and Sam glanced at each other. That was, in fact, the very John they were friends with, who was apparently somewhat different in this altered reality.

Jarred merely said, "He's a year older than us," which had been the truth for about half an hour.

The woman nodded. "I understand. High school politics, right? Hopefully Olivia doesn't get caught up too much in all that once she's a student there. Well, listen, thanks again."

"No problem," said Sam.
