"I told you before this was a beta test, so we're going to tinker around with some new stuff." the sprite said.
"What kind of new stuff, exactly?" Will asked.
"Spirit animals! Cal and Gabe have already seen them, and we have no idea where they came from, but they're cool enough to go into further." the sprite said.
"So we're going to get high and do minigames?" Cal asked.
"I seriously missed something in this conversation." Logan said, staring blankly ahead.
"No, you won't have to get inebriated in any way for the next challenge. I mean, you could if you want to, but that wouldn't really help." the sprite said, "We're making spirit tamers, and by extension, their spirit animals, a class in fantasy."
"Cool, what are our options for spirit animals?" Rebeca asked.
"Oh, you don't choose. It's going to be your character's actual spirit animal. Roleplayers are going to simultaneously love it and despise it." the sprite said.
"So, we're going in, getting a fancy pet, and doing what?" Cal asked.
"Oh no, not a pet. Spirit tamers can summon the ethereal form of their spirit animals to replace their mortal bodies." the sprite said.
"So they're like druids!" Gabe said, feeling pleased with himself for making the connection.
"A little. I guess." the sprite said, obviously forcing a smile, "Anyway, you asked what you'll be doing. Spirit tamers will be getting their own starting zone and experience, so we will have a Battle Royale to see who can complete the starting zone first."
"What's the catch?" Logan asked.
"I'm glad you asked. Normally, a spirit tamer can choose when to activate their spirit form, and won't even be able to until after they finish their starting experience. You, however, will be locked in your spirit form the whole time." the Sprite said.
"I have to go through another challenge as a girl?" Cal groaned.
"I think I do to." Gabe said.
"What exactly is your spirit animal?" Rebeca asked.
"Oh, you'll see soon enough. Have fun out there kids." the Sprite said as the group disappeared in a flash of light.
