"Whoa, what the fuck!" Kelly began after the old man said their names.
"Hey! I thought we agreed to drop the language?" Katie reminded her wife.
"Sorry, but look old man, how do you know our names?" Kelly questioned the old man.
"Let's just say I knew you two in another life." The old man answered.
"Okay, moving on: we'd like o sell my wife's ring for money for our children." Kelly explained.
"Children? Oh, well I guess there's no going back now." The old man quietly said to himself.
"Come again?" Kelly asked him.
"It's nothing. But listen, I can give you money for the ring, and in addition I can also give you something to help you on your new lives." The old man said looking at Katie's belly as she gently rubbed it and smiled.
Katie nodded to Kelly knowing this was for the best.
"Alright. What would you give us to help us along with the money?" Kelly asked him.

"Not these books, these books were meant for you two and only you two, at least at this moment in your lives." The old man explained.
"Okay well now we'll give you the ring and you can give us our money." Kelly said.
Kelly then turned to Katie as she lifted her ring hand and Kelly slowly removed the ring from Katie's finger and gave the ring to the old man while he gave them a check.
"Very beautiful ring you have here. Oh, the stories this ring could tell. Thank you." The old man thanked as Kelly and Katie left the store.
"So how much did he give us anyway?" Katie asked.
Kelly looked down and nearly collapsed when she saw the price: 15,000.
When Katie saw the amount she nearly fainted but caught herself.
Kelly then gently grasped Katie and kissed her on the lips.
"To our new lives." Kelly said.
"To our new lives." Katie repeated as her eyes seemed to twinkle.
