Merlin didn't have to wait long. Only a few minutes later, a boy named Justin walked into the shop. The boy was of Irish decent, perhaps just a preteen, with wild flame red hair and freckles dotting his cheeks and nose. His eyes were jade green and he grinned as he entered the shop, dressed in his basketball clothes. They were simple, blue-jersey and white undershirt, blue shorts, and blue canvas high tops. He held his basketball in one arm as he walked through the aisles, looking at the different objects for sale.
Justin wasn't sure what it was that drew him to the shop, but he paused now in his study seeing a ring on the shelf. He wasn't sure why but something about it compelled him to buy it. Taking it up to the counter, he asked, "How much for this?"
The old man chuckled. "Just a few dollars, but I can guarentee you will find more worth than it than that." He did not tell Justin of course, that it was worth far more, but now price mattered little by comparison to the enjoyment Merlin was getting seeing the ring work.
Justin handed over the money and slipped the ring on his finger. "Alright, thanks mister," He said, leaving the shop.
Merlin chuckled. "You will be most interesting to see..."
