Whatever the force was that was behind the reality change seemed to hear her wish. Reality around her changed again, at least the parts that she had already interacted with. Where her house once stood, there instead was an elaborately built house with a single floor. The necklace she was wearing began flashing as a light musical sound plays.
'How the heck does this thing work...' Linda thinks, maybe if she concentrated it would do something. After all, there seemed to be some sort of psychic ability in these Unicorns. She closes her eyes, concentrating on the necklace when it starts glowing brighter.
'Mommy, are you okay?' Caroline's voice pops into her head. Linda was starting to get the idea, these worked kind of like phones, but instead sent telepathic messages. She had to wonder why this appeared all of the sudden, or the house.
'I'm okay, Caroline,' Linda says, shaking her head. 'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have run like that.'
'Its okay, are you coming back home? The Doctor is going to be here soon,' Caroline says.
'Okay, I'll be there,' Linda says, pausing a moment. 'Caroline, I'm sorry I scared you... I love you and I promise I'll be there in a few minutes.'
'Okay mommy, I love you too,' Caroline replies.
Linda starts walking back towards the house at a slow trot. She had to take a few minutes to think about what was going on. As much as she hated to admit it, she had to try and adjust to this new life. She didn't like all these changes, but it seemed like things were starting to resemble her old life in some ways. Maybe things wouldn't be so bad, as long as things didn't change too much from here.
Though, she still had to wonder who Caroline's father was. She figured he probably hadn't been changed yet.
