Since it's your first time here, why not do a little snooping?
You put your page of references down and walk quietly toward the receptionist's desk. It seems normal at first glance. All the necessary office supplies and the computer monitor are there.
You're about to go back and sit down when you accidentally bump the desk. You yell in surprise as a fancy looking vase falls off the end of it and hits the ground with a loud crash. Ming fragments fly everywhere, including into your leg. You wince in pain as blood starts pouring down your sock and pooling in your shoes. You hurriedly pick the fragments out of your leg with your Swiss Army Knife. That's when you notice the key.
It must have been inside the vase. It's lying on the floor surrounded by the fragments. You pick it up and examine it. Attached to the key is a small placard reading "2nd drawer, right hand side."
This piques your curiosity. You tiptoe over to Megan's desk and spot the 2nd drawer down on the right had side. You unlock it and find yourself staring at a small gold button. You wonder if you should press it.
Rules were meant to be broken, you think to yourself.
You press the button and step back as the drawer bottom slides out, revealing a small compartment. It the compartment is a small charm around a necklace band. You examine it closer. It's sort of shaped like a deformed cross. Etched very finely on it's side are the words, "Just in case."
You wonder why the receptionist would have something like this.
Just then, something interrupts your blissful thinking. From out of one of the testing room doors comes a man, screaming. He knocks you over as he runs out of the building. Your mind is burned with the image of the man.
He was growing some kind of hair or fur all over his body.
Just then, you hear a door rattling. You look down the hallway and see that one of the doors is opening. For some reason, this event seems very menacing. You awkwardly put the charm around your neck and hold it up like a talisman to ward off evil. You watch as the door opens, revealing...
