The Wizard sat calmly behind his sales counter, his 'pet' wolf security (actually an former human employee who he paid, even if it was rather hard to endorse checks as a wolf, and went direct to the wolf's bank account instead), sitting lazily besides him.
The Wizard's outfit was the way it had always been, looking like a bathrobe with glitter stars glued on it with a matching wizard's cap. With on the counter his now signature sign 'He Is A Wizard.'
In front of the desk, was a tired looking middle aged man.
"So my friend, how can I help you?"
"I want escapism."
"Normally I delight at vague requests, but that one was rather TOO vague."
"I want the ability to transformation others, in a way that's permanent, mental and physical, and doesn't have a horrible dark side to it beyond the typical 'didn't ask permission' that's to sustain the surprise, maybe or maybe not with reality changes. I want those who are transformed to be ultimately HAPPY they've been changed, whether they're aware of it or not, and see no problem in others being changed if they are. If they're turned into statues or the like, they remain conscious but also have a zen like state that's happy with their situation. I don't want the escape ripped to shreds. Every time I thought I'd found an escape, it just became another thing I needed escape FROM. An ancient race of latex beings? Children TFed get turned into slug expendable labor. World of anthros where people get transformed and memory erased into living toys? Those who get turned into action figures are melted down. Alien female robots who identify themselves by their function who uplift humans into more of their kind? Ruled by a corrupted council who assassinated the last queen and keep her successor from doing any of her function to enact their agenda. A witch who transforms people into clay to kiln? The person just DIES. I've seen them all, and every time I let my guard down, all that ended up was my enjoyment of it was thrown back in my face."
The Wizard sighed. "You know what they say about the different places where escape is not possible, and where escape is not needed?"
"I know. I just . . . I just want to be able to let my guard down, and not find a barb hidden in the ice cream."
The Wizard stroked his beard. "Interesting challenge. I'm not used to challenge, normally it's the teenager with the short sighted request that gets them turned into a cheer leader. But I think I can tackle this challenge my dear Terry, and yes I know your name. So multiple permanent transformations, mental and physical, and doesn't have a nasty underbelly besides what's initially presented that turns it into a horror story or arguing how they should ask please first or shouldn't be acting superior. And I'm guess optional barbie doll nudity."
"Yes."
"Let's see what kind of story we can conjure then . . . "
