"Look at these cute rings!" Lina exclaimed, holding up two gold bands set with heart shaped gems. "We should totally get them as friendship rings." Amy added, admiring the strange sparkle of the gems. After paying for the rings they both decided to go back to Lina's place to do homework. On their way home, the two girls don their rings. "It looks really nice, doesn't it?" Lina asks as she is admiring her new jewelry, "And it was only a few bucks!"
Once at Lina's place, the two girls enter through the back door as they usually do. They came across Lina's mom when passing through the kitchen. "Hi mom," Lina says, and Amy greets her more formally. "You two are going to do your homework?" Lina's mom asks. The two girls nod and Lina's mom continues: "well, you two lovebirds better focus! School is important, after all: if you don't make it through this year, the wedding is off!"
"... wedding?" Lina asks as both girls look at Mrs. Anderson dumbfounded. "Yes," Lina's mom says, "but I suppose both of your grades are still good, so there should be no reason to worry."
Amy grabs the calendar from the wall as she pushes her friend out of the kitchen. "Well, of course we'll do our best," she says as she closes the door behind the two of them. "What just happened!?" Lina asks Amy frantically, "What is my mother talking about a marriage?" "I don't know," Amy replies as the two of them ascend the stairs to get to Lina's room. Once their, Lina sits on her desk chair while Amy takes place on Lina's bed. Amy starts scrolling through Lina's calendar until she reaches a date six weeks from now. "Oh my God," she says as her eyes widen. "What is it?" Lina asks as Amy's horrified look is making her anxious. Amy turns around the calendar and shows it to Lina.
"27, Tuesday, Lina's marriage!!!" it says.
"WHAT!?" Lina yells out loud enough for everyone in the house to hear her, "What the hell is THIS about!?" "Calm down," Amy says to her as she grabs her phone and scrolls through her personal calendar. She quickly found the same date, the 27th, saying "Marriage with Lina." She was getting a bit dizzy at this point, but then realized, "It must be the rings."
"The rings?" Lina asks, not really sure what Amy is talking about. "Don't you get it?" she replies, "that shop really was magic! The rings we bought were engagement rings and now we are engaged. I can't believe this, this is amazing." Amy takes a look at her ring and brushes it with her finger. "To imagine that there is actually such a thing as magic," she says, "and that we ended up right in the middle of it!"
Lina looks at Amy's smile somewhat confused. "Amy, stop this, we can't get married!" "Oh, of course not," Amy replies, "we should probably get these off as fast as possible." At this moment, the door to Lina's bedroom suddenly opens and her brother comes in. "What are the two of you yelling about," he asks, looking from Lina to Amy and back to Lina. "Can you quiet it down a bit?"
"Uhm, sorry!" Lina says. Amy takes it over: "Yeah, it won't happen again. But say, Lex, what do you think of me as a sister-in-law?" As Amy asks this, Lina's jaw drops open. Lex thinks about this question for a moment as Lina's fiancée is basically asking his permission for his younger sister's hand. "You're alright, I suppose. I have nothing against you." Amy and Lex have never seen eye-to-eye, but now that Amy is magically going to marry Lina, Lex' opinion of her seems to have changed. "I... thank you," Amy stutters, and Lex leaves their bedroom. "Why did you ask him that?" Lina asks and Amy shrugs: "I was curious to his reply, that's all."
"Now, let's try to get these things off and turn everything back to normal," Amy says as she starts pulling on her ring. Lina is doing the same thing, but to her horror, the ring won't bulge an inch. "Butter, maybe?" Amy proposes, "though I have a feeling these rings will be stuck on us for a while."
"Wait, do you mean... We actually have to marry eachother?" Lina asks.
"Well, we'll probably be able to say 'no' when the day comes," Amy replies
