Cassie then heard her baby sister, Kayla, crying in the other room. She had been taking a nap, and wasn't supposed to wake up for another ten minutes.
"Cassie!" Yelled her mom. "See if you can get Kayla back to sleep!"
Cassie walked to her little sister's nursery, the ring temporarily forgotten. She saw Kayla crying and immediately knew why. While hushing her lite sister, Cassie felt around the crib until she found it. Kayla's pacifier. Cassie put the pacifier in Kayla's mouth, and the baby quickly calmed back down and began to drift off.
"Wow," whispered Cassie. "I wish people my age could calm down and relax like that. It'd make school more bearable!"
After she said that, Cassie felt the ring heat up a little. Once it had cooled, she realized that she was holding something. Looking in her hand she saw a pacifier, a lot like the one her sister was sucking on, but bigger, big enough to fit her mouth! Cassie realizes that her little wish had come true, even though it wasn't intentional.
Cassie closed the door of her sister's room and walked back to her own. Sitting down on her bed, she wondered if the wish worked as she hoped. She put the pacifier in her mouth. To her surprise, she began sucking on it automatically. She quickly felt a sense of calm wash through her. She felt her body relax, and she drifted off to sleep.
