Almost immediately Tate is covered in sweat as he is so unfit.
Steve the jock barks orders at Tate as he puts him through his paces. Tate takes them in good nature, being so extremely mild mannered, but struggles to complete most of the exercises Steve throws his way.
Tate doesn't even mind the awkward glances he is getting from the other gym goers unused to seeing such an out of shape guy. He is used to the ridicule and pity of his peers and has long ago given up any hopes of attracting the beautiful girls who are now eyeing up the fat nerd. They were never his type of girl anyway.
As the session nears its end it does appear that it seems to be having some sort of effect on Tate. It may just be the darker lighting but he already appears to have lost a few pounds. He barely notices though. He's never been very interested in how he looks.
As he heads back out to the reception area to be reunited with Jamie, he already has half of the school newspaper article about how the futile lives of vain self-obsessed gym goers written in his head.
