Growl pouring out of my throat as I find myself lunging towards the other dog. The only thought in my mind is getting my teeth into his throat. And yet even as I fly towards my goal watching the Pyrenees react first with surprise then anger I am suddenly being yanked backwards. I fight against the pulling only to feel sharp pinches around my neck. The pain so quick and unexpected I stop struggling and just stand still.
“Get that male out of my dog’s sight!” My doctor tells the guard while I once more focus upon what the humans are saying to each other.
“Not my fault you did not think to use a muzzle.” The guard retorts now directing the white male back the way they had came. More loudly the guard tells the doctor sorry which makes me wonder if my doctor heard the first bit that the guard said.
“Easy. Good boy.” The doctor sooths petting me and gently settling me upon all fours. “Yes you showed that male who is the more dominate.” And as I feel this stroking of my fur and scratching behind my ears I can not help but wag my tail and try to lick at his hands in gratitude.
A nurse I have not seen or smelled before walks up to us and feeds me a biscuit while talking to my doctor. But eating the treat I miss what she says to him.
“Yes its ok. I have a kennel of this breed at home so knew to have the pinch collar around his neck so I could better control him.”
Control me? All he had to do was ask or tell me what I should do....but why was I so angry...I feel so confused but as the two humans lead me down the hall using my leash I meekly follow my toe nails making a faint clicking sound upon the tiled floor.
