Mary tossed and turned, trying not to let her curiosity get the better of her. After an hour and a half of unsuccessfully trying to fall asleep, she finally turned the light back on and went into the bathroom to scrutinize herself. Looking carefully, she tried to detect any changes. Although her ears and teeth had changed a bit, she still had no fur, or a tail, or anything that was really dog-like.
"At this rate I'll just look like a weird human by the time the weekend is over," she pouted. However, she still didn't want to take too much of the dog vial and end up completely turning into a dog. After all, how would she get the human vial to turn back if she only had paws?
Pacing around her apartment, Mary finally walked over to the couch, plopped down, and opened the box of vials on the coffee table. Earlier, she had just scanned over the vials and picked out the dog vial as it appeared to be a creature that could fit in relatively well anywhere. However, now that she had started examiing the vials more carefully, she realized just how many different options there were. There were vials for gender, physical attributes, mental attributes, various animals, mythological creatures, and even some options she couldn't quite identify. As she rifled through the vials, Mary began to realize that while she might want to keep changing into a dog, there were a whole host of other options she could use to affect that change, and even modify it to her liking. Also, she wouldn't have to wait for the effects of the dog vial to manifest in order to experiment with some of the other vials.
While Mary wasn't sure how various vial potions would interact with each other, she felt certain that there would be no irreversible effects. After all, it seemed like vials which provided physical or mental alterations wouldn't have to be used independently of other vials.
"Well, in for a penny..." Mary decided. Looking through the vials, she tried to find something that would complement her canine changes in a way she would enjoy.
