Andrew looked around and spotted an unassuming black console with a touch screen interface. Seeing it unoccupied, he journeyed over for a closer look. Upon further inspection, the console possessed a backboard displaying a pair of flexing arms and the alleged game's title: "Show Me Your Man Card" wedged between them.
Outwardly, Andrew scoffed, believing himself to be above the juvenile sentiment of machismo; inwardly however, he was a man. And as a man, he was instinctively driven to prove to himself and others his worth as one. So naturally, he couldn't help but give it a try.
Swiping his cash card into the corresponding slot immediately brought him to the main menu. It was nothing special, just the name of the game brandished over the astrological symbol for male with a blue blinking start button beneath it. Not giving it a second thought, he pressed it. The main screen disappeared and was replaced with a loading symbol. Andrew could hear gears and machinery within the console beginning to whir to life. Then, to his surprise, a slot emerged from the console. As the mechanical whirring picked up, the noise began centering itself toward the exposed slot until finally, a blue and white plastic-looking card was ejected from the console.
Andrew stared at the card, then glanced back at the screen and saw it still had the loading symbol. Assuming he had to take the card to progress any further, he grabs for it. The second his fingers got a grasp on it, however, he received a static shock, causing him to spasm back, though oddly clasping the card tighter.
"Fuck" he whispered, as he looked up just in time to see the card dispenser disappear back into the console. Furthermore, he watched as the loading symbol disappeared and the main menu screen reappear only with one tiny difference: the screen on the console had cut to black, the main menu screen he was looking at was in fact hovering two feet in front of his face.
"Wha?" was Andrew's intelligent response to this new development before looking around to see if anyone else could see the glowing, opaque screen floating in mid-air, its start button blinking in a beckoning manner. Confirming no one else was looking his way, he gathered his courage and reached out to press start.
