Mary shook her head. She wasn't sure what just came over her, but she had better and more important things to do than experimenting with the vials. She needed to get home and try to get her life back in order ... if she even could. For all she knew she might not be able to get back to her original self. She buried the bag of clothes where she could find them and taking the box of vials she headed out of the forest onto the street.
No one paid her much mind, after all she was just an ordinary kid at first glance, and thankfully it wasn't a school day. Walking by playgrounds she felt tempted again to just let go and become the kid she was, go have fun, but she resisted this temptation. Finally after an hour or two, she got back home and found the key where she hid it in a special box in her planter. Taking it out, she leaned up on tiptoes to reach the lock and opened the door.
The rooms were silent and still, no sign of anyone or anything. Nothing was disturbed. Closing the door behind her, Mary took a deep breath. "now...."
