Katie thought a moment to herself. She and her mother didn't get to spend much time together, and she knew her mom was overworked. She did her best to provide for Katie, but as a single mother it wasn't easy. These three days would be the first she'd had with her in a long time.
"Maybe I could use the ring to give mom a better vacation for the three days." She thought to herself. Katie was smarter about the ring, but she was also still a kid who thought and wanted for kid things. Being an only child, she had lots of friends but she'd always wanted a sister. "What would it hurt to wish for one." She thought to herself.
The more Katie thought about it, the more reasonable it sounded. Her aunt would be coming over tonight, she could make the wish so that reality would adjust for the three days and make herself and her mother the same age for that time. Being eight years old now, it seemed a great time to have a sister, and maybe she could make herself a little older. Or, or maybe Katie could become the Mom for a while and let her mom enjoy being a kid.
