Katie ran home excited as ever. She had a ring that could control ages, and she had made herself 8, a full year older than she had been! She ran to her home, which she shared with her single mother, Kellie. Kellie worked a split shift at her job as an attorney to be home after school with Katie. When she was married, she had to put her career first, having Katie in her mid 30s. Kellie was now 43 years old, one of the oldest moms of the children in Katie's class.
Katie ran in the door. "Hi mommy I'm home! She yelled!"
Kellie entered from the kitchen. "Hi sweetie." She then looked at her daughter very critically. "Katie what are you wearing? Those clothes look too small for you! And didn't we just buy that shirt last month?"
Katie froze. She realized she may have only grew a tiny bit as she aged but it was noticeable in the outfit she was wearing. Her jeans didn't yet feel tight at the waist but the bottoms had risen above her ankles. And her shirt was now exposing a little bit of her belly button.
"Uh oh," Katie thought, "I sure wish mom couldn't notice I changed my age."
And with that, Kellie's eyes went blank for a moment. Then she shook her head and looked at her daughter again.
"Did you hear me Katie? Those clothes are almost a year old! You can't wear stuff that's too small to school sweetie, it's unbecoming."
Katie was shocked! She could control people's perception of her age changes as well!
"I'm sorry mom," she said. "Maybe we can go to the mall soon and get me some new clothes?"
"We can go after dinner," Kellie said. "I have a big case coming up and I'm starting preparations next week, so I'm taking the next few nights off to relax before I have to get busy. Your Aunt Ann will be coming here tonight and spend some time with us and will be babysitting you once the trial starts monopolizing my time."
"OK, cool!" Katie said with a smile on her face.
"Now go upstairs and put on something more form fitting." Kellie said to her daughter, "You're Aunt will be here shortly and we'll be having dinner together."
Katie smiled and said, "Yes, mom." before running up to the stairs and into the room.
Once she was in the room, she locked the door and was in quite a surprise of what transpired. She made a wish that her mother doesn't know of her age change and got her wish came true. Is it possible that the ring made that wish came true. Looking to her ring, her eight-year-old mind was catching up to her body and started to grow smart over this ring. She then started to wonder what other things this ring could do?"
Turning to the mirror she had, she looked to herself and noticed how small her clothes are. Her shirt was a little snug as a little skin was exposed in her stomach reason, the bottom hem of her pants were up to her calves, and her sneakers were getting a little uncomfortable on her feet. Looking to her ring, more curiosity got to her and made her next wish. "I wish that my clothes I'm wearing are a year older." Almost instantly, her clothes started to shiver and changed in front of her and was amazed by it. Her shirt is a little longer and what was a Barbie design turned into Monster High design, covering her body up nicely. Her plants grew further down and changed styles with knitted flowers on the pockets. Lastly, her Barbie sneakers grew one size to make her feet more comfortable, changing the design into Monster High as well. Katie looked on and was amazed by the fact that she can change her clothes as well. She then started to wonder if she can use the ring on other things.
She turned to the room, and could tell that was a little girlish. Mostly, it was barbie themes complete with a bed, stuff animals, Barbie posters, and toys that was mostly Barbie. Indeed she liked her room, but it's a little too young for her taste, giving that she aged a year older. But looking to her ring, that will soon change and kept experimenting. Closing her eyes, she said, "I wish that my room was a year older." And to that, Katie's room shifted around and turned into a room fitting to an eight-year-old. All of the Barbie stuff was long gone and was replaced with everything from Monster High from posters to toys. Her stuffed animals looked a little less as she was getting older. And there looks like a bit of makeup on her dresser giving that she's a little older.
Katie looked around and was enjoying this rings powers. She can age her body, change her clothes and world around her, she can alter minds of people, she can actually do anything. With her mind on overdrive, she looked to the ring and could do whatever she wants with it. The question is, what's Katie's next move with her ring?
