Danielle paced back and forth. What to do with her noxious and dangerous sister? She could just turn her into an animal, or erase her memories, or turn her into an inanimate object or something... but no, none of those were good. She'd rather give Kat a chance to simply be a better person. But she couldn't risk Kat ever getting her hands on real magical power again, either. Finally, she settled on an option. Kat stared at her, wide-eyed. This entire thing had backfired spectacularly.
"Alright, Kat. Here's the deal: I don't hate you. Believe it or not, I do care about you - I've had a lot of time to think about these things, and it's not worth being cruel to you over. But I'm going to have to do something with you," Danielle said, reaching into one of the pouches on her hip and retrieving a spell-book. Kat started shaking.
"What... what are you going to do to me?" she sobbed, "I don't want to get turned into something horrible..." Danielle smiled at her pityingly.
"Sweetheart, you don't need to worry about that. You won't like this, but it's far from horrible. You know how I mentioned I'm a mother now? I have several kits. Most of them are adults by now, but, being effectively ageless, my husband and I decided we wanted more. I've got one on the way. Now, normally us fox-folk have a minimum of two kits at a time, and I don't want my next one growing up without a sibling of the same age. I think you can see where this is going," Danielle said, patting her stomach area. Kat gulped, horrified.
"You're going to make me your daughter?!" she shrieked. Danielle shook her head.
"Oh, no, you misunderstand. I don't want to risk you having the family power. You're going to be my son. Now, be quiet, this is a complicated spell." Kat started to protest, but suddenly doubled over. Her breasts retracted into her body while she became most definitely a he, while grey fur spread across his now-masculine body. Kat's face pushed out into a fox's muzzle, and a tail exploded out the back of his pants. He stood there, panting.
"That wasn't so ba- ACK!" Kat doubled over again as he began shrinking. No, not shrinking, he realized, but becoming younger. Soon he was a painfully adorable fox kit. Then, suddenly, he found himself in a warm place, still going backwards in age.
"No no no...." he thought in despair, before falling into unconsciousness. Danielle patted her belly again.
"There there. You'll have a good life, I promise. I'll raise you right." Danielle stepped back through the portal and ramped the time dilation back up to what Kat had initially set it at. Didn't want to risk her parents finding out while she was pregnant with her former sister, after all. Eight months later, Danielle gave birth to two beautiful, healthy kits, one girl and one boy. As she cradled them, Rick kissed her.
"Well, your little plan worked out just fine, it seems. I know you're dead set on Samantha for the girl, but I was thinking... How about 'Thomas' for the boy's new name?" he asked. Danielle smiled.
"I like that name. Hello, Thomas," she said, lifting her former sister up, "Welcome to your new life."
