Katie felt a lurch in her stomach the more she thought about her best friend Kelly. Something felt off, and yet it felt right at the same time. These budding feelings were confusing to her still young mind, even if she didn't remember Kelly as anything but her best friend. But wait...wasn't she something before? She struggled to remember.
"Okay, I used the ring to make a wish," She thought. "I was six, and I wanted to get pierced but Mom said I couldnt. Wait, Mom?" She tried to picture her mother, but all she could think of was Kelly. "I wish I knew what happened."
Suddenly, Katie knew, she remembered fully. And that remembering tangled with her new feelings. "I have to change us back!"
"I wish..." She stopped. Somehow, looking at Kelly watching her, she couldn't summon the courage to wish it at least right now. "Shoot..."
Kelly looked at her. "Katie, what's wrong?"
