It wasn't Halloween, but that didn't stop the local high school from throwing a costume party (especially after the backlash over the cancellation of the real Halloween party). Students dressed as colorful characters of all varieties met, mingled and enjoyed the snack table. Though, being a public school, it consisted of store-bought desserts, fruit and vegetable trays, and watered down punch. It was the latter of which the young woman clad in black robes and a sorceress' hat targeted.
Secretly, she opened the lid of the drink machine, uncorked the vial hidden within her robes, and poured the shimmering, multicolored concoction into the top. The liquid quickly dissipated into the beverage. Unfortunately for her, her actions did not go unnoticed.
"What are you doing?" A gruff voice called out behind her. She turned to see one of the football players, clad in knight's armor, standing behind her.
"Just checking the drinks, Lancelot." She said.
"Bull! I saw you pour something into the tank."
"You must've been seeing things."
"Oh, really?" He poured some of the punch into a cup and handed it to her. "Then, I guess you wouldn't mind wetting your whistle?"
"First of all, who says that anymore; and second, fine." Without hesitation, she took the cup and downed the whole drink. "Aah, refreshing! Now why don't you go fight a dragon? I recommend Ms. Hornsuckle!"
"Pfft, whatever." The knight in shining plastic said before walking off.
"Foolish jock," She said under her breath, "but then again, who would suspect my transformation potion wouldn't affect me. After all, I already am what I'm dressed as... a real witch!" She walked to a shadowy corner of the Gymnasium, ready to watch the fun begin.
