Heather easily tore the building apart, and began to move through the Zoo. The remains of the building crumbled beneath her feet. The visitors at the Zoo were shocked at the sight of a monstrous 100 foot dragon. Some believed it wasn't real, just some type of promotional event or something. A few even stepped forward to take pictures of it. But when Heather first let loose with a jet of flame, the visitors quickly realized that something was wrong and fled in a panic.
The Zoo staff tried their best to restrain the beast, Behemoth. But their tranquilizer darts were woefully inadequate. Even conventional small weapons like handguns could not pierce her thick hide. Besides, the Zoo staff had their hands full dealing with the fleeing crowds. Their priority was safety, and the majority of the staff were preoccupied with protecting the visitors at the Zoo - treating the wounded and directing the others to safety. The remaining Zoo staff worked hard to control the raging fires that Heather was creating as she burned everything in their path as the Beast moved towards the exit.
Kim did her best to help. She would gently move people safely out of their path, by nudging them gently to the side with her snout. She tried to stem the tide of the fires by denying them air, sucking it painfully into their lungs. She even tried to devour some of the burning debris - fire had no effect on her new body. But it was little help. She was just too handicapped by her inability to move her limbs.
John's head was now awake. He looked confused at the chaotic scene before him, moving his head with his long neck around in a panic. Kim tried to speak with him, but the loud noise of the chaos before them made it impossible.
Heather broke through the walls at the perimeter of the zoo easily. The Zoo staff did not give chase. They were too busy trying to help the remaining visitors, and control the other animals that were now free from their own cages. Heather headed towards the dense woods, and the tall mountains just in the distance.
