"So, uh....What kind of book were you reading anyway?" I asked, rubbing the back of my head a little, feeling slightly awkward about asking my beloved Molly such a trivial question, seeing as how she was now a living breathing creature from Egyptian mythology. In response, Molly the put her fork down, looking at me and answered, "...Egyptian Mythology: A Guide to the Gods, Goddesses, and Traditions of Ancient Egypt, by Geraldine Pinch. Apparently, it covers a vast amount of ancient Egyptian culture, spanning from 3200 BC to 400 AD."
Although I can understand why Molly was reading through several different books on Ancient Egyptian mythology, however, I had a feeling there was more to her current obsession than on the surface. Inevitably, I spoke to her and said, ".....This is about when we saw that Sphinx mummy back in the museum, isn't it?"
In reaction to my words, Molly stopped munching on her bacon, letting out a long sigh, showcasing her newfound cat-like fangs for canine teeth before speaking to me and replied, "..........I'm......I'm sorry, Jacob. It's just that.....*sigh*...I just want some goddamn answers to this mess, nothing more. I mean, I've....somehow opened a millennia-old sarcophagus, and inside we saw a mummified Sphinx back in the museum, for Horus's Sake!"
From there, Molly quickly covered her mouth with both paw-like hands, shocked that she unintentionally spoke of the Egyptian Sun God's name. I mean, I was a little surprised as well at the sudden slip of the tongue, I have to admit. However, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. After all, Molly has been through a lot ever since she transformed into a Human-Sphinx hybrid.
